ALM Clean Uninstall Utility

I'm trying to install the ALM add-in on a user's machine, but she is getting errors that basically say: 

Installation has failed. For details, see the Loader log file. Error 0x800C0008

I've seen several forums (including HP support forums) that point to a clean uninstall utility (KM1400062 link) but when I try to get to that it tells me I don't have permissions... is there another way to get this utility? Or could I be given permissions? Could it be emailed to me?

I don't know my company's SAID, as I'm with desktop support and just trying to fix a client-side issue.

Failed to initializing plugin QC9 adapters issue in HP ALM 12.01.

Hi All,

I am trying to resolve Failed to initializing plugin issue QC9 adapters but still facing same issue.

I tried all the ways :

1) I have admin rights to open IE.

2) uninstalled client files and reinstalled(2 0r 3 times).

3) deleted temp files.

4) checked internet compatibility view.

5) uninstalled Micrsoft .NET framwork 4.5.2 setup and reinstalled.

6) added url to trusted sites.

7) Renamed Altium (Dream VCL) to Altium_test (Dream VCL) from REGEDIT.

Please tell me if forgot anything to do for resolve this issue and if you know please tell me the root cause for this situation.

Here only one user getting this issue he is out sourcing employee of course we have so many employees from same location. Need to resolve this as soon as possible.

Is it possible to update a lookup list (Dynamically) in ALM through external source (E.g. Webservice).  Please let me know if there is any alternate way to update the list, where the data is external.

Not able to connect ALM from UFT

I have following installed on my machine

1.) UFT 12.54 
2.) ALM 12.50

Both the above are trial versions

1. I have installed ALM plugin in UFT

2.I have installed TDConect.exe
 
3. I also tried to install - HP_Unified_Functional_Add-in_for_ALM.msi. I got the attached message (UFT Add-in Message.jpg). Hence, I clicked on change for UFT and installed ALM Plugin (mentioned in point 1 above)
 
I have Windows 7 on my machine.

Now when I try to connect to ALM from UFT after entering ALM Server name as - https://almalm1250saastrial.saas.hpe.com/qcbin

User name and password for ALM and click on connect, I get following error :

"The connection to the specified ALM server failed. Make sure that the server machine is available."

I have attached the error screen.

Please help me.. Thank you for all your help in advance.

Turning off HW.ST.FWk,internalexecuter.log and sentinel logging

I read:

KM00467327 about logging and UFT, but I cannot turn off the logging of:

Comwrapperlog.log and HP.Default_HP.ST.FWK.Internalexecuter.log

 

On machines I log on with a domain user, I sometimes get sentinel error popup boxes. They are thrown by the process HP.ST.FWK.InternalExecuter.exe and this process wil remain, until you clear all the popup boxes. When tehre are a few of this processes hanging, it cannot run a new test anymore...

Anyone any clue how to get rid of this logging?

configuring sentinel logging, so to turn it off

In knowledge document KM00824462 are described what the 4 sentinel log files are.

lm.log, lic.log, lm_quicktestpro.log and lm_servicetest.log.

The latest file is giving us problems, as this one is not logging, but popping up in message boxes on our screen... When we login with a domain user. Does anybody know how and where to configure this logging, so we can turn it off?

we are using uft 12.2 patch 6 and ALM 11.52 patch 8.

Due to some bugs migrating to UFT 12.5 is not an option.

How to change email sender in QC 10

Hi, 

We want th change the default email sender (tduser) for AUTO MAIL (when we create / delete a user in a project).

We already changed the value in the DATACONST table (FROM_EMAIL_ADDRESS) and it works well for any automation directly in defects (by example, when we create a new defect and we assign it to a user), but it does not seems to be taken into account for the user creation / deletion.

As a complement of information, we did add the value in DATACONST table under each project and, for a single project, we have 2 different senders (1 for creation / deletion of users, 1 for assignation of Defect to a user).

Error installing ALM Synchronizer Server 12.53 SP1

Any suggestion to get past this error? 

My computer is Windows 8 (v6.3).

Running setup.exe

Step 5. Installing HPE ALM Synchronizer. Please wait...

Dialog displayed "Install JVM... C:|Program Files\HP\HPE ALM Synchronizer\_jvm...Do you want to overwrite this directory?"

Select Yes

Installer screen displays:

Errors occurred during the installation.

JVM not found

Click Finish

InstallShield Wizard displays:

An error occured during wizard bean change...

java.lang.UnsatisfiedLinkError: Can't load library:

C:\Users...\AppData\Local\Temp\ismp001\IsmpWin32Tools.dll...

Test Lab shows Fail but Script has only Warning

I noticed a strange issues with some of the QTP scripts run from QC (both versions 11.0).

A big script executes completely and there is only a waning due to a timing issue in one of the screens. It shows "Script passed with warning" in the test execution window. But when it is closed and the Test lab is updated, the status shows 'Fail'. When I launch the report, there is only a warning there as well and no failures.

I dont know why this happens only for few scripts. There are hundreds of other scripts that has warning but they all are shown as 'Pass' in the test lab. Has anyone encountered this situation before ?

ALM report

Everytime the status of a defect changes to 'Failed Retest', the entire defect details must be written to a file and stored.

A 'Failed Retest' status can change multiple times during any given period and each time the status change to 'Failed Retest' the details must append to the file highlighting the number of re-occurence.

3. Provide a query that can be run in order to extract the 'Failed Retest' Status in an excel format

Unknown file format issue in report generation in ALM 12.5

Hi Team,

This is Karthiga. I have done migration from ALM 12.1 to 12.5 and successfully migrated 13 projects. After migration , we are unable to generate project report in analysis view for a single projects  and the remaining projects are working fine.

Please help me to resolve the same  and attached the snapshot for your reference.

 

 

Steps to reproduce –

 

  1. Logged in and navigated to the Dashboard >> Analysis View
  2. clicked Ctrl+T or + symbol followed by new project report generation
  3. In the ‘New Project Report’ pop , entered “test”(Any Name)and clicked OK.

 

Error displayed.

Applying cross project customizations

Hey all,

I need a little guidance on applying cross project customizations.

At this point I have a template project and a linked project.

When a change is made to the template will that change be propagated to the linked project?

I am unsure whether linking should occur before or after the template has been customized.

Ideally I would like to be able to link projects today, with no customization in place on the template, and then gradually introduce the customizations required over time. This is because I am in a "moving target" environment and projects are ín flight.

This page; http://alm-help.saas.hpe.com/en/12.50/online_help/Content/Admin/cust_crossproj_apply.htm  seems to suggest that my preferred approach will work but I would like to get some clarification.

A speedy response would be appreciated if thats at all possible.

How to disable check out dialog whenever touch a test case

Every time I login to HP ALM and whenever I select a test case in Test Plan, the Check Out dialog displays. I only need this when I actually change an item, not when I am merely looking at it.

Any suggestions how to turn off the check out dialog, and/or automatic check out?

Can we link an existing project to an existing Template?

Is there a way to add prefix to requirement ID and defect ID

Hi,

We are looking for an option to add prefix to requirement/Defect id- such as REQ001/DEF001

Is it possible.

I know the value comes from sequence. But, can we create a custom field and add prefix with copying Defect ID value. Is is possible. I would really appreciate for some guidance.
