Auto Notification mails are not triggeering from smtp mail server, whenever defect status change. Seems its not working from today onwards.
I have checked below option in siteadmin

Enabled Sent Mail Automatically in siteadmin.
Rebooted the HP Application life cycle services in server
Email address availabilty in Dataconst table

Filter with Father works fine, filter with name works fine, but if I add :
hierFilter("RQ_TARGET_RCYC_VARCHAR") = "*;11111111111;*"
I can write anything inside the field, the result is like this filter does not exist.
I've got 2 values, requirement folder ID and Cycle ID and inside Excel I'm trying to export all the requirements inside the folder for the cycle.

How to get folder wise execution status (not test set) from test lab. For example, a parent folder Project XXX having multiple subfolders like X1, X2, X3... and each sub folders having multiple test sets. here what i am looking is execution status of each subfolder X1,2,3 not test set. could somebody help me out on this one?
I have two test cases, like 'Test case A' and 'Test Case B' and 'Test case A' has a Parameter. I want to call 'Test Case B' from 'Test case A', only if Parameter value is 'No'. If Parameter value is 'Yes', I should be able to complete the 'Test Case A' without calling 'Test case B'. Is this possible? Please help.
When a test case is created with a parameter having Upper case and lower case letters, the parameter created for it by ALM is all lower case. Example,
If the same parameter name as in the test case is used in a data upload script (i.e. VBA script), the script fails to upload data due to this case difference.
1. Why ALM changes the case when it creates parameters? Is there a way to avoid it and create it the same way as in the test case?
2. Why ALM is case sensitive i.e. upload script should not fail due to the case sensitivity?

We are on QC 11.52 Patch 5 enterprise edition, browser used is IE 11 (11.0.9600.17842).
On Windows 2008,2012 R2 SP1 64 bit SERVER machines when we provide "http://localhost:8080/qcbin/" or "http://<<server ip>>:8080/qcbin/" response page is loading instantly as shown below , no issues so far
Problem is occuring only after clicking on "Quality Center" URL.
After clicking on "Quality Center" URL, page is redirected to "http://<<server ip>>:8080/qcbin/start_a.jsp", post this action IE is going to NOT RESPONSING state for 3 minutes as shown in below screen shot, after waiting for 3 minutes login page is loaded.
We are not facing this issue on Windows 7 32 bit CLIENT machine, we are only facing this issue on Windows 2008,2012 R2 SP1 64 bit SERVER machines.
For accessing QC application which is present in Organizations network , I am connecting using VPN from Windows 7 32 bit CLIENT machine.
when we launch HP QC on Servers machine it is directly using Data Center Organization network but not VPN network.
What could be the issue? any idea on how to troubleshoot this issue please.

Trying to upgrade from QC 9.0 to ALM 1.1.5. ALM is being installed in a new server and i have taken a copy of QC database. While, runnning the installer i have pointed out the QCSITEADMIN_DB schema for

Then, i got this error:
Upgrading schema of version 9.0 is not supported.
But, am using QC 10.0 version and i have verified that from site admin console > HELP

Hi, I have the query below to create a report combining test table and test design step table. The query works fine, except that it repeats fields test folder name,objective,post condition,precondition for every single row (screen shot attached that shows a sample test case)
What I'm looking for is to have these fields not repeat. For a given test case name, I need it only once. The highlighted test case has 15 design steps and I don't need test folder name, objecive and postcondition repeated for all steps. I need it to be displayed only for row corresponding to step 1 only for a given test case.
Can anyone suggest a workaround for this? Thanks.

I am getting JIRA ID along with comments in ALM when do some change in JIRA's comment and vice versa.
E.g.
When Add comment "Test Comment" in JIRA then ALM is showing comment like-@JIRA 12345N Test Comment Added.
When Add comment "Test Comment" in ALM then JIRA is showing comment like-
Users don't want ID to append with Comment while pushing data to any end point. Could you please suggest that how can we remove Id(Appened Value) from comment fields?

Sql server is going from 2008 (SP3) to 2008 R2 (SP2).
We know how to migrate projects via the front end and via the database backup.
We are not sure how to copy the users over from the siteadmin database.
I have taken the data from the 2 tables:
qcsiteadmin].[td].[USERS] and qcsiteadmin].[td].[USERS_PROJECTS]
Imported this data into the new sql server, but the users on the new installation can't connect. They get the follwing error: "authentication failed verify user and pwd"
I suspect that this is due to ldap not being in sync but I'm not sure if what I've done is correct or how to get ldap back in sync (if that is even the issue).
Has anyone succesfully managed to move HPQC/ALM and copy the users from the siteadmin database to the new server/database? If so could you share the method with me please?

Recently i had given the TD_ADMIN privilege to an user in HP ALM12.2. But when the user tries to access site administration page, the user receives the below error:
"Failed to Login. Please contact System administrator for help. Description: User has no permission to access application."
Note: The username is being displayed in the site admin list for the project

I currently have a macro that downloads attachments from modules in HP ALM. I noticed that not all the attachments i put in are being downloaded by Code. I realized that this is caused by the limitation in the character length when saving files in windows.
I need advise on how to get around this. I tried to change the .filename attribute of each item however it return a "read-only" error back to me when i ran the file. I'm hoping for an advise to at least change the file name when saving to the Temp folder in windows so that even if it has a very long file name in HP ALM the filename in windows should be shorter so that all the attachments can be downloed.
Here's the except of my code: I tried to code in a method to change the filename and replace it with the attachment ID instead (+ the temp folder directory of course) but had to comment it out when it returned the errors.

I have created a VAPI-XP-Test Script in HP ALM 12.2 for our test case automation. This test script reads from the parameter tab and executes the test case based on the parameter value. Currently our manual testers have to copy/paste this test script into ALM (every time for each test case they execute). I'm wondering if ALM has any functionality where I can set a 'Default Test Script' value that will get generated whenever a tester creates a VAPI-XP-Test?
I'm noticing that I can navigate to "Edit > Default Values" to set default Test Case Comments and Description values. However, I don't see an option for setting a default test script? I'm wondering if there is any feature in ALM that would allow me to set default test scripts?

When I hit HP ALM 12.5 client login page, it process everything and at the time showing the login screen it get blank.
I did everything like re-instanll ALM, clear temporary files, tried to open run as admin as well tried to open 32 bit IE version.

I am able to open ALM from another machines but not from my laptop
Note - I have another environment of HP ALM 11.5 which does not have any isue. I am facing issue only with ALM 12.5 instances.

I have code that will essentially do a search & replace for the text I am looking for in the current step that was just modified (for both the Description and Expected Results).
What I would like to do is do the same thing for the next step, and so on, until I reach the end of the test script. I have already spent more time than I should have trying to find the method to advance to the next step. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
