Prior to enabling the 'alm lab managment' extension on our project in ALM 12.20, our alm project supported manual and quick test professional tests (UFT 12.20).  I enabled the extension in order to gain benefits of the lab management and scheduling and running automated tests on remote hosts overnight.  Since the enabling of this extension, the alm project "type" droplists in Test Plan and Test Lab only contain options for "Performance" and/or "QuickTest_Professional" tests.  In Plan, we we create a new test, the only options for test type are: Performance, QuickTest.  In lab when creating a new test set, the only option is Performance.  This is inhibiting us because we cannot create a test set for manual tests any longer, even QTP tests since the only test set option is Performance.  And of course in test plan, we cannot create any new manual tests.

I have checked with HP and they are trying to reproduce.  They mentioned my "edition", (license server) is stand alone, not full edition and this might not be supported (they're still working through finding that out). 

Has anyone run into this problem using the Stand Alone version of ALM?

Hi, I'm trying to export test cases from QC into excel.

I select the folder under 'Test plan' that I want to export and click the little green icon in the menu bar that looks a bit like the save disk icon. It successfully exports to excel.

Some of my projects have the green icons. Some haven't. I'm Admin in all projects so I'm trying to find some flag or access somewhere either in the site admin or the QC client which enables this icon to appear.

I've downloaded the ALM community version to try to see what its all about. I have Windows 7 Pro with running IIS7. When I try to install that package, i receive a message that states that the OS is incompatible with 12.5 version. 

Can anyone please let me know if ALM is actually able to run on Win7pro? If not, what are the OS requirments for installation?

We recently patched ALM 11.52 with patch 07. We uninstalled the previous ALM files using ALMUninstaller and re-install the ALM from newly created MSI.

But, one of the users is having this issue. She is getting following error. We even try by reinstalling .NET Framework but no luck. Can anyone please help how we can resolve this?

Hi,

I am trying to install HP ALM 12.50 trail version, by choosing "setup.exe" and then "ALM Platform(Windows)". Finally I got an installation wizard with welcome page, when I hit on "Next" button it is giving me an error like "Installation error --> ERROR: This machines' operating system is not a supported and recomended ALM(12.50) server. The installation cannot continue.". Here I am using windows 8.1 64-bit operating with 8GB RAM, 500 GB Hard Disk and I7 Processor. I didn't installed Microsoft .net 4.5 framework as per windows statment "Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012 include the .NET Framework 4.5. Therefore, you don't have to install this software on those operating systems.". So am I missed any important steps in between?. Please help me ASAP.

Is there any simple way to import large projects (>2GB) in ALM 12.5x?

I know how to do it with copying db dump, modifying dbid.xml and copying file repository.

But the administrator guide states:

"Projects greater than 2 GB cannot be imported. They must be imported in sections."

Does anyone know how importing in sections works?

I have created all my tests in Test Plan but when I go into Test Lab, the folder from Test Plan is empty.  I went back to Test Plan and confirmed it has 394 tests in it.  Nothing is showing up in Test Lab view though.  I have no filters on.  Has anyone seen this before?

I am trying to start a Test Suite in the Test Lab with the OTA library with ALM 12.2. My problem is that sometimes the tests starts and sometimes it doesn't. The window with the running test sometimes dissapears before the test completes, and the log shows that there is no run. 

Every test in the set is marked the same. After the initial window closes, no others open and no other tests start. Here is the revelant code I am using to start the tests in the Suite:

Could I kindly get this patch for installation of the trial version please.

We have a request to capture and compare the test case results from 3 different folders in test lab but the test case names are all the same because they were pulled from the same folders in test plan. We have a system test team running them in test lab in folder 1 and UAT team running them in folder 2 and we want to write a report to compare the 2 results sets to see who is passing and who is failing. ANy thoughts?

I have direct access to the backend so I can run the SQL whihc we thought would be easier than a report indside QC.

I am attempting to create a link between ALM REST service and TFS 2012.  At the point where I add in the information for the TFS server the connectivity check passes.  After I click Next on the Create Link wizard I receive this error:
