I was wondering if anyone has ran into an issue like this:
I previously had version 12.1 installed on this Windows 8 server. I did the uninstall as suggested in the guides, so that I could install version 12.50. However it is failing at the database server page of the installation. With the 'failed to validate database parameters' error message. I cannot get past this part of the installation. I think the problem has to do with the bundled local_policy.jar file and the US_export_policy.jar with the ALM installation. Because we now have encryption in motion/transit enabled on our Oracle databases. This was JUST implemented. To support connections to the Oracle database using these algorithms, we need to use Java Cryptography Extension (JCE) Unlimited Strength Jurisdiction Policy Files. I put the supported 2 jar files that are needed for encryption in the Oracle jre path. This works fine when using Oracle SQL developer. But during installation of HP ALM it fails. So, is there a way to use the jar files needed for our Oracle connections, instead of using the ones bundled with the ALM installation? Because the installation uses the bundled java drivers during installation.
