Immediacy of Do Until - not until the end of the loop?

It appears that Do Until only evaluates the condition at the end of the loop.  I am trying to find an alternative to Actions, since every step in my test plan says Exit Iteration when I leave it because of a failure or other condition. The test results show each step with the report that the test case passed or failed, but each one is listed as an action iteration in the test results.  I want to avoid that for my customer.

Shouldn't Do Until exit the moment the condition becomes true?  I am using watch expression for my variable, and it shows that it has met the criteria, but the program continues to execute the loop (sample below).

If I'm being too literal, please let me know. If anyone can see a way to do this, please let me know ASAP.

Thanks,

Jan

Var_PleaseStopMe = 0

Do Until var_PleaseStopMe = 1

   Step 1

  Step 2

  var_PleaseStopMe = 1

  Step 3

  Step 4

Loop
