Server Reboot or Service restart

Just a query, how do you handle odd problems within QC? Meaning reports not generating, click on a button and QC throws an error, etc, etc. Normally I reboot the server hosting QC, but I'm not sure this is the correct approach.

 

Should I be restarting the QC service determine if the problem remains then resort to a server reboot? what does the community  reccommend?
