Prevent Users from Assigning Defects to Expired Cycles

Hi Team,

I want to prevent users from assigning defects to past testing cycles that ended already. Is there a way to do this with ALM? I am using ALM 11.52.

I have users creating defects in HPQC and listing them as detected in testing cycles that ended many months ago.
