Hi All,

I am facing difficulty in generating report while doing local execution form quality centre :(

Kindly advise..!!

For reference : Testshell is a tool similar to QTP.

Local Execution:

Below are the steps we followed:

  1. Quality Centre 11 Server is setup.
  2. HP QC 11 – Test Shell 5.0 Add in is installed as per the attached pdf.
  3. Quality Centre Client is installed on local machine with all the add-ins enabled. Test Shell is also present under the same machine.
  4. Quality Centre Test Plan is created with Test Type as ‘TESTSHELL’.
  5. Test Shell Local machine Scripts are copied and placed under ‘Shared’ path.
  6. Quality Centre ‘Test Lab’ is created and mapped to one of the Scripts already placed under ‘Shared’.
  7. Test Lab is executed. It has the option to run locally/remotely.
  8. Check the box ‘Run the test locally’ and execute: Test gets executed successfully.

Test gets executed successfully.

  1. Quality Centre Test Lab reflects ‘passed’/’failed’.
  2. Below there is an option to open the Test Shell Report for the same execution from Quality Centre. But when we click on it, error message comes as Report was not saved for the selected test’.

Steps :

1. HP Quality Centre Client is open.

2. Test Shell Runner is open.

3. Test Shell Runner is running in External Control.

4. Local Execution is triggered from Quality Centre.

5. Test Executes successfully.

6. No Report found.

I am really not sure which part I am missing, and have been fighting with this for more than two weeks..!

P.s Under the Test Instance Details tab, Execution Settings, 'Save TestShell Report' Checkbox is checked.

Looking forward to hear from you ..!!

Regards,

Shamik.
