I have a strange query. In my Organisation, we use HP ALm 11 , QC Edition and there are some fields which are set as mandatory in Defects Module. We have a plan to use HP ALm Defect Module as a task tracker too. ie, Create a defect ,but fill the details as if it is a task allocated to anybody.
However, the fields which I want for creating a 'task' are new, which are easy to create. I have issues with the Mandatory fields, which are not mandatory for the Defect type 'Task'.
Coming to my query
(1) Is Using Hp ALM for task tracking ,as mentioned above advisable? Did anybody try this in the past.?
(2) Can I have Defect specific Mandaotry fields, ie, if I create a new defect and then select the Defect type as 'Task', Is it a possibility to make the Already mandatory fields not mandatory for this defect type?. if yes, how should I go for this?
